In Reunion, Ai-Hua Lin draws the viewer into a hushed and dreamlike world, where hydrangea blooms, soft foliage and delicate insect life appear suspended in a moment of stillness. Bathed in deep blue-green light, the composition feels both intimate and atmospheric, as though observed through memory rather than direct sight. The work carries a quiet sense of wonder, inviting contemplation of the fragile beauty found in the natural world.

Lin’s handling of acrylic is notably gentle and layered, allowing forms to emerge softly from the surface. Flowers drift in and out of focus, leaves seem to glow from within and the subtle presence of living creatures suggests a hidden conversation unfolding within the painting. This interplay between clarity and haze gives the work a poetic, almost meditative quality.

As the title suggests, Reunion speaks not only of physical gathering but also of emotional return. The painting evokes reconnection with nature, memory and the innocence of close observation. Through its tenderness and restraint, the work conveys a feeling of warmth, peace and quiet rediscovery, hallmarks of Lin’s deeply personal visual language.
