Dantzig Gallery is an independent gallery based in Woodstock, on the edge of the Cotswolds, just eight miles from Oxford and a stone’s throw from Blenheim Palace. Approaching its tenth year, the gallery has developed a reputation for presenting a thoughtfully curated selection of modern masters alongside a small and carefully considered group of contemporary artists.
The programme is centred on works that combine strong visual presence with long-term collectability. On the modern side, the gallery specialises in artists such as Picasso, Chagall, Dalí and Hockney, with a particular focus on works on paper that are well documented, authentic and art historically significant. Alongside this, the gallery works closely with a select number of contemporary artists, supporting their development and placing their work within thoughtful, growing collections.
Under the stewardship of Ewan Macfarlane, the gallery is underpinned by over 18 years of experience in the field of Modern Masters, including specialist training with Sotheby’s. This experience informs a rigorous approach to selection, provenance and connoisseurship, ensuring that each work offered by the gallery meets a high standard of quality and integrity.
Dantzig Gallery works with collectors across the UK and internationally, offering a personal and discreet service that extends beyond the acquisition itself. The gallery’s approach is collaborative and long-term, supporting clients in building collections that are both meaningful and enduring.
Rather than presenting a broad or purely commercial stock, the gallery maintains a focused and evolving programme, shaped by conviction, relationships and a deep engagement with the works themselves.
